Description of the procedure

There are various nose correction procedures, from entirely minimal to complete reconstruction. A wide range of problems can be successfully solved during nose surgery: hump on the back, crooked, too long or too short nose, wide nasal pyramid, irregular nasal tip, too wide or extremely narrow nose, asymmetrical or too wide nostrils etc. Thus, we have corrections of the tip of the nose, nostrils, nasal wings or saddle nose, as well as procedures for narrowing the nose or correcting the hump. Rhinoplasty is sometimes combined with septoplasty to improve breathing function. The external deformation of the nose is often associated with the deformation of the internal part, which causes breathing difficulty. Both deficiencies are corrected in one operation.

Minor nose corrections can be performed under local anaesthesia, while the complete reconstruction is performed under general anaesthesia. However, for extensive nose reconstructions, the open technique is the best choice, and it is necessary to make an incision through the skin, and the scar will disappear over time.

After the procedure, tampons are placed in the nostrils and removed after 24 hours or longer. Bruises and swelling in the facial area subside after a few days. Return to normal activities is possible after a week from the procedure.

Recovery and results

The result of the operation must be natural and harmonious. What should always be kept in mind is that the nose is partly already determined by its initial shape and dimensions.
