Cardiac rehabilitation is a professionally supervised health program that helps to recover patients with diseases of the heart and blood vessels
Cardiac rehabilitation includes medical assessment, individualized physical activity, modification of cardiovascular risk factors, education, and counselling to help increase the patient's physical fitness, reduce disease symptoms, improve health, and reduce the risk of future cardiovascular events. This is a fundamental step in treating cardiovascular diseases, by which we achieve the best possible recovery of the patient's physical and mental state and reduce the risk of future disorders and diseases to the greatest extent possible.
Cardiac rehabilitation uses physical activity as medicine, and the patient is provided with a rehabilitation service and the tools to ensure a long and quality life after completing the program.
The goal of cardiac rehabilitation is to enable heart patients to return to the activities of everyday life as soon as possible. In addition, to rehabilitate the disease's consequences on their physical and mental health and help patients recognize and remove factors in their lifestyle that adversely affect health.
A multidisciplinary team of experts manages cardiac rehabilitation patients: a cardiologist, diabetologist, nurse, physiotherapist, nutritionist, psychologist and kinesiologist.
The cardiac rehabilitation program includes the following:
In addition to using standard cardiology tools in daily clinical practice, particular emphasis is placed on physical activity therapy, which we prescribe as a medicine.
An individualized approach to each patient, building motivation and safety in training programming is imperative at our Reference Centre for Cardiac Rehabilitation.
We are a unique and leading cardio rehabilitation centre in our country, the countries of the region, and the European Union.
