Thalassoterapia Opatija
Invasive cardiology treatment is performed through special catheters in the patient's body.
In the Laboratory for Invasive and Interventional Cardiology, we perform the following invasive treatment methods (invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures):
Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is an invasive therapeutic procedure to open a significant narrowing within the coronary artery. Working catheters and wires are used for the procedure, with which balloons and stents are delivered to the narrowing site.
Rotablation or rotary atherectomy is an invasive therapeutic procedure performed with a small rotating drill to expand the lumen of blocked coronary arteries caused by calcium accumulation.
Shockwave or intravascular lithotripsy is an invasive therapeutic procedure that uses a catheter with the ability to generate shock waves to break up calcium deposits in the coronary arteries.
IVUS, or intravascular ultrasound, is an invasive diagnostic procedure that uses a special catheter to display the inside of the coronary arteries, providing a real-time view.
FFR/IFR measurement is an invasive diagnostic procedure that measures the pressure difference along the coronary artery to assess the severity of the narrowing.
